has my main computer gone tits up ?

just noticed the electric had tripped upstairs I have reset it at the meter and all sockets came on again

but


my main computer wont switch on

any ideas please

just check the fuse in the plug first m8, and try somethin else in the socket your using.

failing that coul be a fuse in the psu possibly.

This happened to my mate and his Mobo had to be replaced? that was many years ago, Hopefully mobo's/PC's are a bit more advanced these days and it will be a fuse?

disconnect all the printers, etc and leave it with keyboard, mouse. try it and still no joy try it by posting....that means take cover off, try removing memory and start computer, if it beeps it's memory, if not replace memory and take out VGA/Graphics card....if it beeps and whirs into life it's VGA and replace card...if not could be hard drive.....try it with a back-up hard drive if you have one spare....most motherboards have a green light that either stays green or turns red if motherboard if faulty , usually under a plastic cover at corner of the board....hope this helps

tried editing post but wont let me save .....try the PSU to see what voltage it's kicking out, use the ohms kit/voltmeter mate.....worth a shot
