hi all what can you use these cards for just seen one go on fleebay for £38 no use to me as don't have sky are these paired to a stb or can you use in any sky stb is it safe to sell on fleebay thanks for any info

People buy them to use abroad, basically people that have no uk address to order one direct from sky. They work in any box for the ftv channels. Every so often the listings are removed from ebay but mostly you will be ok to sell. I would sell it sooner rather than later as when freesat is launched the demand for these cards will likely drop ~well as soon as those abroad realise Ch4 (soon Ch5) will be available without the card :).

fook me tried to sell it on ebay and it just got removed lol wtf

Lol sometimes they crackdown and remove them fast. Legally they arent ours to sell as they remain property of sky. Maybe someone else can give advice on how to sell it on there? I know some people sell it with a cheapo digibox but put the card in the picture and say "box comes with everything shown ;) and all working" etc. The cards are usually worth more than the old receivers.

thanks for advivce m8 but i just seen the latest sky boxes on there are the legal to sell with card im confused

What you do is to sell it as an envelope that includes the card. They can't stop you from selling an envelope with a free skycard. That's how it's done.

If its a sky viewing card, which you can buy legally and directly from sky for £20, once installed in the card slot you then call sky who pair it with your box and you get FTV channels but also including CH4 & 5 and some others as well I seem to recall.

ive got a second card ,which i got off a m8 so i tried it in my sky box and i get all the channels except sky sports and movies
so ive brought anther box and put that in my bedroom and the card still works
all it says is this card is not for this box (when u try sports / movie channels) you only get them if the card is paired
now the football season is over i might cancell my subscription and just use that other card
then ive still got all the channels (bargain)

If there is no subscription being paid it is removed from 'valid cards' list. It will not receive updates and will expire. You will still get FTA and FTV channels with it though.
