what anti virus software would members advice against .

Still using NOD Antivirus 3.0.650 64bit

The new FREE AVG 8 looks, seems ok. It also has spyware scanner included now.

AVG 8

always used avg since the first day i got a computer, tried a few others over the years but nothing comes close to avg

bit of advice.... DONT TOUCH NORTON ANTI-VIRUS WITH A BARGEPOLE

definately NOD32 for me, never had a problem using it, and I would echo the above comment with regards to Norton ;)

while i use nod 32 myself i am tempted to try some other free alternatives such as avira antivirus and comodo firewall

I found Comodo firewall a pain in the arse, so went back to Zonealarm, using Avast 4.8 AV and its free

Hi

Used to use AVG found it really good didnt have any probs over the years, heard a lot about NOD 32 so though I`d give it a try and thats been very good as well.

Wouldnt really use norton or mcafee they are too power consuming and you get all sorts of probs with then but thats my opinion as I had a lot of probs trying to use them.

Regards

I use the free AVG 7.5. Was going to download free AVG 8, but apparently the email scanner only works for 30 days so I'll stick with what I've got.

I'd personally recommend Kaspersky AV its the best AV i've used.

Gotta agree with Kaspersky. I used Nod32 for years but found it had let the odd virus through, swapped to Kaspersky and never suffered with anything since.

Are ye using anything else as in a sperate firewall or anything or is it just kaspersky by its self?
