who would you hire...

X got a 2:1 from Cambridge University, Y got a first from Westminister University.

X and Y done the same degree.

just based on them facts would you hire X or Y?

been having a debate on it all day lol want to see what most people think on here...

as im not a stuck up snob and it do what ya tell me to do as well as return some suggestions and wouldnt have a hissy if u didnt take em on or not...
 
btw i aint no employee me and mate been arguing about it all day. i would take Z aswel!! but loads of people are saying X to my annoyance lol.

well ide hire both x and y for a probationary of weels max to see how they would both acieve in the company..
it dosent matter where ya come from its what ya can do

without sound racisit.. where do all our doctors come from.. india/asia because they know there stuff and put the effort it..

yeah you may go cambridge but a graduate from brixton could prob do the same job better

all depends on the person and the effort they put in

for instance,,, ive worked for asda home delivery 3 months nowand have been put on the steppin stones programme (managment traning basically) because i put my all in where as people have been there over a year haven even been considered for he basic of advance tasks (releaing of loads) just shows if u have insentive and willingness will get you far

Trouble is half of them probably have dodgy credentials from non existent foreign universities!!

Anyway back to the question, I think it is irrelevant as to your qualifications, experience counts for everything nowadays. If you have proven ability in something it means much more than a bit of paper that says you read some books and took an exam. I wouldn't hire either of them based on just their qualifications.
 
I would hire the one with the correct attitude/desire for the job irrespective of where the earned their qualifications
 
I wouldnt hire either - for almost all jobs they are massively over qualified - hire an immegrant instead - ability to do the job, or even understand what the job is, is clearly secondary in the eyes of british employers to how little they can get away with paying.
