newbie.....help

Hi, I'm looking to get a Eurovox max within the next few days and have been told that the box will arrive totally blank with no software or anything on it.

I obviously need to load some software onto before it will work so if anyone can help me out here that would be most appreciated.

I'm in bedfordshire, I need to test the box to make sure it works as i will be taking it up to edinburgh with me in 2 weeks for it to be used up there.

Hi there m8, you will need 20 decent posts before you can get to the main sections and download area but as the box hasnt arrived yet then you will be able to accumulate them by then.

The software is all there and you will be able to load it no problem, then you will have to do a powerscan, you can do it where you are to check it is working o.k but you will have to do another powerscan when you get up there or you may find a channel dump for that area aswell.

Just take your time pal and have a good look around, theres plenty of sections which i am sure you can post on.

thanks for the info guys.

had a look on the link that you gave and it talks about red box and blue box. The site i'm getting my box from states that they dont deal in clones.

what do these colours mean and how would i tell which 1 I have ? as far as i know my eurovox will be in the new white packaging.

as your gettin a new box it will be a max v "black" so just use the latest max v firmware
connect it to your pc with a null modem cable and power up the box
just hit the download button on the unified loader/firmware
cause your box has never been flashed before it will probably say "system reset" so just unplug it then immediatley plug it back in and it will start to download
