xbox live help for a newbie...

hi guys, had by 360 for a few months and never been on live before. anyway ive decided to give it a go and am just going to use it for originals and not backups - pro evo mainly. anyway ive never used live before, have just set it all up via the dashboard. i had a 48hr free subscription card which came with rpo evo - just entered the code and it does not work - jsut says "the code you entered is not valid". can anyone help?? also does anyone know of any other places to get a 48hr code as id like to try before i buy...
does pro evo need any patched/updates applied manually to play on live or will it all just sort itself out when i load the game?

If you've never used live before mate you should get a free 1 month trial

When you go through the sign up process DO NOT select any of the gold membership options or the prepaid code mate... select the silver membership

It will say are you sure blah blah blah just carry on with the silver subscription and it will then tell you that you are entitled to a 1 month free gold trial

As for pes.... if there is an update available via live then it will tell you when you sign in to live and offer you the update.... just select yes or ok whatever it is and it will then download the update for you.... Happy Days

sorted! cheers mate. been playing for a while, it seems the only way i can get an opponent is if i create a room otherwise i dont find one. also there seems to be a massive amount of lag in alot of games - can this be improved? ive got a 4meg connection and never had any issues with it...
