Why is this site going downhill fast?

Whats with all the new idiot members? Noticed over the last month or so all the new members but its "How do I?" all the time.
No constructive posts,just questions and not one of them are willing to sit down and learn anything with the search function.
Is it a coincidence that most of the long standing members don't come on here much anymore?
I know I don't. Digi used to be the 1st place I came to but I've got sick of trawling through crap from new members. Seems to be all newbie kids who've got a link off Google.

see what you are saying mate but we all got to start somewhere, if it was not for the help of the long standing members on here when i joined i would not have gotten anywhere, i found this site whilst searching for info on how to do my cable card as i could not get hold of the trader i bought my box from and was in the position of having spent about £120 and not having a working box anymore, this was a few years ago and for the price of a donation i got mine and members of my family and friends boxes working again, but it was only thru the patience of the members on here as i knew nothing about cable stuff (still don't)
but found the site to be more than just the cable section after a while and have been here ever since and yes i still need a lot of help at times but on the other hand i have hopefully helped a few people along the way.
hopefully after a while some of these new members will stick around and help others along the way, that is what makes DW the place it is in my opinion

How come I can't post in the Eurovox section????

Every time I try I keep getting this:

New guy here,just registered but looking forward to some good times ahead.

Got a Eurovox Max and been looking for a good site for any info I ever may need.Had this site recommended to me so here I am!!!!

This is what I wanted to ask as well.

I've been trying to build my post count to ask this in the Eurovox section.

I heard about this the other day and wanted to know if there is any truth in it.

I don't understand how they change the system to block the Eurovox as it relies on the signal.
Could they change it so you had to have talkback to get channels?

OR

could there be some way of having a varying signal frequency? This would stop the vox as it would keep changing.

I could go on but hope you see the point, we've all been newbies m8 and it can be frustrating, so rather than moan about you thinking the forum is going downhill use some of your experience to help out and keep this forum the best

To be fair i did the same when i first joined looking for a quick fix to my cable card. Been here a few years now and i'm sure like me a lot will stick around and try to offer some valuable info in the future when they learn from others.

To be fair when I first joined it was dbox related, & I asked umpteen questions, but if it wasn't for the patience and time of the more knowledgable members, I wouldn't have bothered sticking around, so I would have thought aknowledging the greatness of this forum and thanking the people on it would be better, or can you think of a better one?

I too had to start somewhere (modshack back in the day) but i do see to some extent what daz is saying there are a few posts ive answered that would have been so quickly answered with a quick click of the search button !

Ha Ha. Daz, you do like to cause issues dont you. lol. We are all newbies mate. Even now. Everyday is a school day mate. I remember joining here, recommended by a friend, and just sat back, and read tutorials for about a week, then asked umpteen questions. Thankfully most people were helpful, although I do remember being flamed. lol.

Its widely accepted/a given right the emphasis on free tv,perhaps the hack has become too easy and is certainly taken for granted.
The recent influx of newbies is from the latest hit,who knows maybe some hidden gems in there.
Totally agree on the search part,also annoying new peeps seem to think they need to make 20 posts in 'new to cable',rather than the other 80% of the forums to gain access.

Have to say its where we all start, I know when I started out I probably could have used the search button more, but to be honest, I didnt know what terms to search for, I just knew I bought a dbox and it didnt work, that was my knowledge in total. When I read about, I seemed to get more and more confused so stopped in my tracks and posted a question, this was answered and I learned and went on, slowly I got confidence in d-boxes and felt I could contribute.

As others have mentioned We all have to start of somewhere, without asking you will never learn. This is the best forum on the net without a doubt and I dn't see it going down hill.

I know what daz was trying to say about newbies posting the same thing and maybe they should use the search button... but i disagree that its going downhill in fact Digital World has never been more popular and when the crap hits the wall all the other sites was timing out and going off line because of the volumes.

But daz you should look back at the posts that bronto mentioned and not feel embarrassed but understand we all start somewhere.

People will go elsewhere and that is there choice we are not trying to hammer them to there membership.

But what most people must understand when a site gets pretty large like we are then there is more and more conflicts of interest and not everyone is agreeing with each other and there are many strong personalities and some people wont like people or how the site is run.

But we believe we are doing the best job we can and try to make this place great for everyone including long standing members and newbies.

Digital World has been online for coming up to 10 years soon and we have no intention on giving up on the place or the members and in fact we will be releasing something huge in the next few days that will bring DW to the top of the pile not that we are not on top anyway .

I don't even go in the cable section yet I am still here, this is my first port of call as soon as I turn the PC on.

I come here because it is a fantastic place to have a chat with a great set of guys, this site is anything BUT going down the pan.

It has so much to offer other than cable, I can spend hours a day on this site and not get bored, great site, great help, great community. What more can anyone want?

Oh and as for noobs, well everyone starts somewhere, out of every hundred maybe 5 will stick around and turn into great members. (I think, lol.)
