Hi Folks

I am a new member

I have bought a new printer, an epson DX7450 and I am having some problems using "compatable" inks. Has any one else had problems?

telling us what problems you are having can be useful if you want us to help you???

Hi Thanks for asking.

I bought compatable inks and they just don't seem to work very well. The printer seems to accept three of the inks and rejects one, I replace the one and the it finds somthing else to complane about eg the black is patchy and will not clear with a head clean, then all of a sudden nothing comes through, yet the inks are not showing depleated. I have an Epson colour 460 and this is no problem at all. I still have it and am having to use it as a fall back. The epson inks gave me no problems at all, may be I have to go back to them.

Thanks Davmac82,

I thought as much. The problem is which compatible inks can I trust? I there a particular make that has been tried and tested?

their are a number of factors like wear, ink brand and others i can't really think of ..LOL
The ink passes through a simple if i may call it a strain guage, so the contacts may just need a damp wipe.to better work

mate if its of any use to you . i brouht a canonpixma ip3300 . i inject my own ink when it runs out . the printer would stop printing and a message window would pop up on the computer saying it cannot continue . but the beauty of this printer is the over ride button which forces the printer to continue printing . its the only button to the right of the green start switch . i would print 1,000 of doc and its costing me nothing . i just buy the cheap ink kits from tesco .

Compatibles have come a long way since this thread was started. I've bought many compatibles from and never had an issue
