If you have then you know what i mean,
Basically is it worth it?
and what are the chances of getting caught?
I know you get caught if you crash within 1 year of buying it but after that it gets legit and companies cant find out.

there are better cheaper ways to get no claims bonuses that has virtually no chance of getting caught but to be honest even tho its a rip off, get it legit. its not for you, its to cover others for your oversight. what if you run over someones child and he requires a million pound for medical bills for that child otherwise the child don't live? I know its not always like that and it is offputting for new drivers but go legit. it aint worth it.

Sorry m8, but trying to cheat on car insurance isn't only illegal(I can live with that) but it's also immoral and can have a serious effect on the well-being of others. Forget it.

Actually even if it turned out that your insurance was null and void due to your lying when taking out insurance, injured parties are still covered by the Motor Insurance Bureau.

Even so, I agree with devil and nara, this is one area where my conscience tells me it's wrong...

Try saving money elsewhere...

True, but it's 'last resort' basic cover.

And any 3rd party involved with you not being covered by insurance only gets a percentage of a claim(I think about 75%)

Apart from that I have seen peeps banned for a year for having no insurance, first offence, no accident or injured 3rd parties just a routine stop.

Get proper insurance, if you can't afford it then you can't afford to drive, ..... simple

i dont think you guys understood,
i will have insurance
but i will get a no claims bonus year for £100 from somewhere i know and i could tell my insurance company that i have 1 years no claims bonus therefore i will get a discounted insurance,
only catch is i dont crash for 1 year and then that no claims bonus will be on my records legit.
if i do crash then insurance company will find out that the no claims bonus is bogus and i will get fucked

Just stomach the first year premium, we all had to start somewhere! Its sickening but thats the price to pay to drive. Here in Belfast, we are hit with insurance premiums among the highest in europe.

Passed my test at 24, and paid £1200 first year on a 1.4 Leon(insured at country retreat, Belfast was £1600). £400 difference between the edge of the inner city and 25miles up the coast, £400 for a Postcode!

With a years NCB and hitting 25, it was £650 the second year.

I took lessons when i was 17 but gave up as i couldnt afford the £3k+ for 1.2 corsas and the like.

Its like people putting bigger engines in their cars undeclared, you may as well not pay any insurance if your potentially voiding it.

Don't know if you knew already but Admiral will insure you for a 10 month period after which you get a full 1 years no claim bonus. It's called 'Bonus Builder' I think.

They are also one of the cheapest for inexperienced drivers.
A good idea is to have an older relative as a named driver (mum or dad best). It can lead to a 10% discount.

Hi

Never done it, didnt know you could do it, wouldnt do it, just not worth it. What if you were involved in an accident resulting in serious injuries not just for other 3rd parties but maybe other family members who are in your car. think about it and you`l know what I mean and get it legit.

Regards

why bother paying any insurance if your going to lie anyway. By the sound of it its for a cheap motor or your a young-un, Crash and you'll not only lose your car but might end up in clink depending on the severity hit a pedestrian or something and same thing. If you can legally drive dont go ruining your chances for next year an extra years No claims amounts to f@ck all anyway. ring for a quote with and without the years no claims using something like confused.com . Just my opinion by the way.

I'd been driving for over 15 yrs, went away to work in the states for a few years, had a company car for 2 years when I came back. Changed job, no company motor, bought my own car & every insurance company I tried said I'd lost all my NCB as I hadn't had a policy recently. Eventually went with Admiral, think they called it Accelerator policy as pipsqueaker says after 10 months get a years NCB.
Don't think this buying NCB is a great idea mate. Sod's Law, you'd have a bump & end up in soapy bubble.
HH.

can say it works and there are ways . but if you have been passed only a year then defo not worth it. if you had been passed 3-4 years and was driving on someone else's policy ( they were getting the NCB) then its ideal.

it wont void your policy if you do it properly also nowt wrong with playing the system when it comes to insurance companies. i have been driving ten years never had a bang, would hate to add up how much ive paid my insurance company.

hope that helps.
