Hi guys,

I've just bought a Giga Quad with both s2 and cable tuners. I'm having problems setting up mgcam - I've installed the ipk and have the necessary files in the correct place. My cccamd.list is working as sat has no probs at all. However the newcamd.list including the correct cws = lines is not clearing at all.

Have browsed a few forums is seems my mg_cfg file might be the issue but the only change I've made to that is G: 33 which I'm told allows use of both c and n lines. Any one got mgcam and cable tuner working? If so, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks Casuk but still not clearing for me. I put all your files in usr/key plus the softcam.keys file. C line working fine but not n line.

I put mine in var/keys, thats what works for me they exact files

I think usr/keys and var/keys are simbian links so same location. I'm lost as to how to fix this.

You need to install ccam 2.30 as well to run your sea lion or have both using Ccam or you will need to swap cams for each one i think not 100% though as not sure sea lions work with mgcamd

Spot on AJT. I removed the ccamd.list entries and now working fine. So is there a way to avoid having to enable a different softcam each time??

iv only got mgcamed on mine, no cccam I have sat cline in cccamed and cable n cline in newcamed both clear perfectly

Thanks for all your help guys.

Ccam will work for both and will switch configs for the channel asking for them,I have had 2 or 3 sea lions going on one Ccam it will always use the one sea lion it needs or the strongest so to speak if it doubles on same channel sort of thing..sometimes your giver may only want you to use a certain cam but if not Ccam alone will work with both letters.just put both on same ccam cfg

Probs is c providers seem to insist on using mgcam. Tbh I've only ever used ccam.

why not use mg cam for sat provider as well . just use the sat lion on the newcamd.list file as well

C: & N: can both be used in Mgcamd if they are not working or switching as it should then its not been setup correctly.

if you only have a C: then its pointless running it in Mgcamd as you will see no benefit, if on the other hand you have an N: then this should be used in Mgcamd to benefit from the Cache feature which is sadly lacking from CCcam

Here are some correctly configured MGcamd files that work 100% for both C: placed inside cccamd.list and N: placed inside newcamd.list
