I'm thinking of porting over to Life Mobile who piggyback EE Mobile. At the moment I'm on ID Mobile (Three mobile) but the coverage just in my house is awful. I never had a problem with o2 at home but there sim only deals are abit pricey for what I need.

If you have any dealings with Life Mobile please let me know

Giffgaff use O2 network. The goody bags are really good value for money...

ASDA use EE as do Virgin,
ASDA 30 days rolling 600mins unlimited txts +1.5gb data

Virgin doing a sim at the moment £10 30 day rolling contract. 2500 mins + 2500 mins to 08 numbers + unlimited txts + 2gb data.

Its Only 3g not 4g and think you will find that all 3rd party sim deals only offer 3g not 4g when piggybacking any network

I'm a light user, this is 30 day rolling 1000mins, 5000text 1gb 3g data £5:95 a month with EE - Life Mobile. I was on an old Tesco sim charging me £15 a month for not much more. The problems at homw only:-
Three signal strength is rubbish at home, Virgin was no better o2 was ok but the Life mobile is cheap as chips

That is cheap and will be hard to beat on price if you are not bothered about 4g...

Just been on there website and its gone up to £7.45 for that sim deal but still cheap...

On giffgaff for £10 you get 500 min 1gb data unlimited texts 4g and free calls to other giffgaff users...

If virgin signal was no better than THREE signal how will life mobile signal be any better when virgin and life both piggyback EE?

Virgin did work i should have said but it still had black spots within the house but some signal was better than no signal onThree /ID mobile.

Still there m8:-
Standard SIM deal on LIFE Mobile

I see only available through uswitch.....

Well I've tried the life sim and to be fair it's on par with the Virgin sim. It's looking like it's either o2 or vodafone for me. Are talk mobile any good ?

I've just swapped from Virgin sim only (EE network) to TalkMobile sim only (Voda network, in fact they're now part of and owned by Voda).

For £10 I get 1,500 mins, 5,000 texts and 4gb data. This is an offer and is due to end in a few days.

As for network quality, seem just same as Voda (as I would expect) but had no reason to contact cust services so can't comment on what they're like if you have a problem.

Just been looking at there deals, better value than giffgaff. I'm thinking of moving myself now.

Talk Mobile doing a 500mins 5000text 2gb data £7.50 30 day rolling up till the end of the month:-

Sim Only Deals | Contract Sim Only Plans | Talkmobile

Thing is, when I network scan on anyone's mobile in the house o2 and vodafone come up pretty much straight away. I might have to scan 2 or 3 times for EE or Three to appear which makes sense with the lack of signal.

Oh and on EE only (2g) shows in scan for network were as with o2 and Vodafone (3g) shows up on them both. Will this be why the new Life sim is poor ?, 2g only showing in scan.
This all happens only downstairs, as soon as I go upstairs I get EE (3g) after a scan. The reason I'm trying to get a cheaper sim ideal is I'm trying to get all 5 of us in our house on a network that works all around the house. Were all on sim only 30day deals , their all on Tesco (o2) and 2 of them are on 15 a month and 2 on 10 a month.
If I can get us all on say 7.50 each I can save around15 - 20 a month just on phones. We've cut loads back and this would be near our target of saving 200 a month just on wasteful crap.

I've found some networks have better coverage on 2g but not 3g but also some are better on 3g and not 2g. This can vary by network and location. It depends on which side of their network they upgraded I guess.

The problem is most phones are set to for 3g/2g which means it will try it's best to find and keep hold of a 3g network and only if none found will it resort to 2g but it will mean that it will keep also checking for a 3g in case one is around.

Didn't know, nice 1. Anyway , I'm going to give Talk Mobile a go and hopfully that will sort the downstairs signal problem out
