My phones been playing up rebooting and freezing so I thought I would go into recovery mode and sort it but for some reason I can't get in. I'm pressing the right buttons but I don't get any blue writing top left and if I keep my fingers on the button it just cycles with the samsung galaxy s3 logo till I take my finger off the power button then it boots.

Any idea's ?

have u tried download mode? worth a shot at least

holding the power button, volume down, and home button

I ended up reflashing with an o2 stock FW using dl mode + odin but still it won't let me in recovery mode which is good to have for some basic repairs

What's the best rom for a Samsung Galaxy s3 ? , stable camera etc.... I might as well flash it up

Well after a tonne of playing around and testing new sims ands sd cards and flashes galore it's still rebooting whenever it feels like it. Now I'm led to believe it's a faulty home button that kind of tells the phone its stuck in and reboots.

Anyone changed the power button out ? I've no worries doing it with the iron was just wondering if it fixed anyone elses reboot problems on a samsung galaxy s*

Sorry , I meant faulty power on/off button not home button

just to update the thread, it turned out to be the power button on the side been faulty. It would reboot the phone on it's own accord so I replaced it but it was no small feat.

I've done smaller soldering in my time but this was plain old awkward to solder the back side 5min 34secs make sure you've got magnification at hand , headset or glass.
It looks easier on the video than it actually is without bridging solder or melting the plastic and the first button I bought, the legs that drop through were wider and it would sit flush.
Anyway it's working and no more reboots.
