Mobile Phones What Phone You Got ?

Just got a Smart Ultra 6, what a bargan at £100

I've got a couple of UMI IRON's on their way for the kids Chrimbo presents. Couldn't risk holding out for release date of IRON Pro - might treat myself to a Pro after holidays as replacement for Moto G (2nd Gen)

Just bought the other half a sony z5 compact off contract for her christmas present.

Feel like the poor relation with what I'm about to say but I've had a galaxy s2 and never felt the need to upgrade as its done everything I've needed.
However screen is cracked and battery is shot so I've splashed out a whole fifty quid for a doogee f5 pro 16gb.
Specs look decent for the price and if I get a year or two outta of it then I won't complain. Think the battery could have been better but I've been charging my s2 twice a day so once a day would be an improvement.

Nice looking phone there, but hell- what do your kids keep on their phones that needs such tight security lol??!!! Do you like your Moto G?

lol, funny thing is all that bio-metric security but you can still override it with a 4 digit pin :)

Yeah I really like the Moto G. I'm not that heavy a user so sacrificed the 4G for a bigger screen on the 2nd Gen and besides can't get 4G signal until I get to work anyway. Music through speakers on it sound fantastic - don't know about other Generations though.

I thought about a Motorola about this time last year as I was looking to replace my ageing iPhone 4 (which Apple ruined with iOS7), but we DO have 4G here (believe it or not!) so I plumped for the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini. It's OK but I can't say I love it. It is NOT an S5 in a smaller case, they should have been honest and just called it the G800. It does pretty much everything it should, except it is lousy for calls when the GSM signal is weak- the iPhone beat it hands down in that respect. But the screen is bright (important here) and the 4G works a treat so not in any rush to change it. It claims to be waterproof too though I've not tested that lol!

Just got my Umi Iron yesterday, waiting for my new nano sim to arrive to use it. Got our son an Umi Hammer in October, really tough phone. So far, loving them. No NFC on them, they have HotKnot, but I never used NFC so its not an issue. Not sure if they will support 4G on Virgin Media when they introduce it here (Dublin), but Im not bothered about that really either. Best thing is they are a really good spec phone for about half the price of a Samsung or HTC (or a third of the price of an iPhone 6!), and Im not tied into a contract any more. Lovely jubbly!

OnePlus One had it for nearly a year now & it's been a superb phone.

I heard about the OPO last year on this site and was going to get one this year when my contract ended. Couldnt get an invite (Plus 2 was announced and they were out of stock of the OnePlus One) so I started looking at other Chinese phones. There's some really impressive Chinese phones out there for a fraction of the cost of Samsung, HTC, iPhone etc. I'll definitely go for a Chinese phone again in a couple of years: SIM only plans are the way to go!

Got one for my son last year. Gorgeous. Wish I'd kept it! [emoji2]

You can order it from other sellers without an invite, there are several sites selling both the OnePlus One (Black 64gb £271 from EU) & the +2 (Black 64GB £307 from EU) there are also Chinese sellers selling them but you usually pay import duty on them but not if you buy from EU. What phone did you end up getting?

I got the Umi Iron in the end. With a 64gb SD card, it cost me about €200 all in. Great spec, really nice screen, and almost half the price if the +2, never mind a Samsung. No Chinese malware preinstalled, nice clean Lollipop 5.1 and easy to flash (never did it myself anyway). The Zuk 1 looks brilliant, and the new One Plus looks nice as well.
