Hi all

I have had my phone a good few months and started noticing the charging period taking a lot longer than normal apart from my in car charger (genuine Samsung) making it seem a lot faster to charge.

Well it has just died on me. It was plugged into the wall with the charge sign on the battery icon but the % was going down from 8% to 6% so i knew it wasn't charging. Now its dead and wont charge at all.

Once and a while the screen will show the battery icon with the green part of the battery but then it would just go and pressing the buttons wont make it apppear, it wont turn on :(

I have tried a different charger, i got so much stuff on my phone i'm gutted. can i reset it? help :(

whats the cause of this?

update

on this freezing night i decided to try my in car charger and its charging, i could turn it on and it was still charging but i dont understand why it wont charge in the house. I have tried 2 Samsung chargers and using my pc as a charger via usb.

I think your charger in car has more power than the chargers at home, try may be a new battery

i thought that, i left on charge overnight to find it at 13% after 10 hours of charge.

I did phone t-mobile and was told to take it to a EE store in town and let them look or they will send an envelope to have it sent to them for diagnostic but i'm going to take it to a store and see if they will test the battery.

Tbh, the store can't help you that much. Try connecting the phone to you PC with the USB lead. The socket on the bottom has different pins for mains and USB charging. This may be why the car charger seems to work. You best bet is to send / take it to a Samsung service centre.

I noticed that charging it via usb to my laptop takes a lot longer than when it's plugged into the wall. The programs that are enabled might be draining much faster than the charging (has happened to me on occasion).
