I was wondering if anyone can help me with this phone, I managed to get it unlocked but it still shows the t-mobile logos and still uses t-mobile internet settings to go online. I am using a 3 pay as you go sim in it and wanted to know if this can be flashed to change it to have the 3 carrier logos and settings?

thank you

Been a while but I'm sure if you change the product code on it that should sort you out. Most folk would prefer to have it debranded though rather than changed to 3 branding, then just change the settings you need for your 3 PAYG sim.
Google should be able to help you out, debranding a Nokia N95 or something but I believe debranding carries a small risk of bricking your phone.
Good luck,
HH.

EDIT -> Double post: system wobbler???

agree with HappyH, been a while ! lol

Yes just change product code will sort it out. did with mine couple of years ago, worked a treat

thanks for the replies guys, this is whats happened so far: I used the nss tool to change the product id to the one for 3, and signed up to nokia beta to get their software updater. but when it finds the phone it says there are no updates. if I use the Ovi software it says the same but when I ask it to reinstall it downloads then gets halfway and fails with 12017 error.

Ill keep searching!

Pretty sure when I did mine I changed the product code to a generic UK one i.e. No operator branding then changed only the settings that needed changed. That way the phone is more like Nokia intended it to be, no 3 or T-Mobile bloatware to slow it down. Just a suggestion.

As said go for the generic milia one. I doubt milia will be bothered about supporting firmware for operators that don't even sell the phone anymore. Worth a try with bolide software it was always better IMHO anyway

thanks again lads, turned out the problem was the product code i was using. i found it on a different forum by someone claiming it was for 3 when it was for t-mobile. it was a noodle scratcher as the phone was already on t-mobile but had a different product code hence the confusion lol

I found the right one then the updater showed me that I could reinstall and that went thru fine. I have the stock uk code as well and may try it later. this one is perfect at the mo, the weblinks include 3 taking me to my account page like it should with all the apn settings already entered. I wanted to go this route to save me time, it didnt but i learnt a lot lol thanks for all the help guys.

Just be carfull. If you want to change the product code in future, the phone will only update if the software version you are on is lower than the one you want to update to. With the n95 begin an old phone I'll be surprised if they release any more software revisions so you will be pretty much stuck on that software. Unless there is a way to spoof the revision? I never came across a way and I looked many moons ago. Glad your up and running though mate
