how manay still use v boxs on hear

just been wandering how manay on hear still use v boxes on hear to position there satellite boxes do u set them up when programing ur satellite s do u stare from east to west on ur satellite resevers or west to east iv been told its best to start west first and make ur way round to the east it seems beter for reception of satllites what do u guys think who are using v boxs

We install plenty of the heavier linear v boxes- did one yesterday, there's not many alternatives for moving bigger dishes above about 1.1m price wise since receivers don't generally have 36v controllers now.

The setting up is the same for any motor it's just that you do more of the calculations on 36v yourself, you can start anywhere but if you have no line of sight or interference issues, starting at the middle is best & there should be no difference between east or west unless there's a line of sight or interference problem in one area. It makes sense going one way from satellite to satellite as you store each satellite's position though as it just saves time.
 
suprises me how USALS cant be incorporated into a v-box so a 36v motor can run it but 1.2 is of course better for tweaking on large dishes,regards mdt
