A friend here in south of Portugal has recently lost reception of the Norwegian channel NRK1. I've tried re-scanning but can't seem to find it any more. KOS claim there is a NRK bouquet on a European beam on 11.372V but I can't pick anything up even on a 2m dish. Anyone know if it's gone/moved? Thx, TT.

Hi trevortron,

According to Flysat... this transponder is one of 16 transponders that have now moved to the new T1 Beam on Thor 5 at 0.8°W

This is a much tighter beam than was previously used...

Thanks to Flysat

Many thanks Zorch. I had forgotten about Flysat, I tend to use KOS- easy-to-use site, but a bit behind at times. Looks like our Norwegian friends will have to do without

Hello Faroe, welcome to the forum.
It depends on where you are, have you seen Zorch's post above? It's not looking good if you are anywhere south of the north of France. Unless anyone knows otherwise.....

No news about the NRK1?

the NRK1 back up channel has left 12.418V.28000 on trhe THOR5 T2 european beam which means its now only available on the THOR5 T1 nordic beam and as such theres no chance from the reception site in portugal, regards mdt

I have recently installed a motorised system with a 1.3M dish and 0.1DB LNB. I am located near Nice in the far south of France. I have good reception on 60-70% of the Norwegian channels on 0.7W. I am also, in clear weather, also getting good results on Viasat on 4.8E. I am very surprised that this is working as my investigation led me to believe that I would be too far south.
Danish channels are more like 90% on 0.7W.
In heavy downpours 4.8E is toast but some of the stronger transponders on 0.8W are standing up. All in all very happy with the results - also is my wife as I have managed to really give her a good surprise.
Best,

Jonathan
