Hi all,

***No Signal Lock***
***Red Bars Only***

The DBR (digital bit rate) used by this transponder/frequency doesn't seem to be excessively high... the SR (symbol rate) isn't at all low... and the FEC (forward error correction) is only moderate... so I can't see why there should be any problems getting a signal lock... I have no problems at all with signal reception/signal locks on any other transponder/frequency on this satellite... just this one...

Any ideas...?

Best Wishes,
Zorch

Hi Zorch,

I've just tested it, and I'm also getting the red bars only for this transponders (signal 95% quality 4%). I tried using the 'fine move' to see if I could lock the signal, but I couldn't. I'm sorry, I cannot help...I'm not an expert. Let me know if you want me to test something else.

cheers,

OH! YES!

I smell sweet victory i finally get one over on Zorch ( currently doing the Jig ) Only Joking Mate but view it an weep LOL :)

Only red bars 79% Signal 25% Quality on TM5302HD + 100cm Gibertini + Inverto Black Ultra 0.2,
South East England,

Likewise I have seen this in the Satellite charts but never locked onto it so must be on a spot beam over The Republic of Georgia probably from SES-5 @ 5 east.

It would be nice if other members gave their location when replying to reception reports so I assume that digi247 is nearer to The Republic of Georgia than the rest of us ?

If Georgia is in the North West UK then yes Only Joking, still pretty strong for me here, Zorch using the same LNB dude Black Pro C120 you may want to check other frequency's zorch mine went tit's up last year after about 5 months the amp had gone and i lost about 7db on some transponders it wasn't until i swapped it over for my spare invacom C120 did i realise

Maybe worth a try even a standard LNB just to give it a quick test

Sound advice as always mate... however... due to my disability I cannot get up to my Dish/LNB anymore... my best friend (of many years) used to do all the repairs/adjustments/swapping of LNB's for me... but sadly he died last year... so I will just have to leave it as it is for now... I do have another brand new Inverto Black Pro C120 LNB though...

PS
Thanks to everyone who has replied to this thread... it is much appreciated...

No lock here in NW using 1m orbital, black ultra and 6800hd on 7.52p. Signal 82% Quality 8%.

ive had prioblems with this transponder since they added a few more channels and switched from 5632 sr to the higher one. i dont think its anything to do with it being below threshold as sometimes its coming in at 10-10.5db and then nothing with no change in weather conditions. its a strange one as its showing here now at 9.5db but jumping in/out of lock, using a dh hd-f15,td110,icecrypt lnb in north west uk.regards mdt

Hi again all,

This is really baffling me now... why am I having so much trouble getting a signal lock on that one solitary transponder/frequency... it doesn't make any sense to me...
