Need a new transformer

Some so-called "transformers" don't cope well with the lower current drawn by LED lights so if you intend changing to LED, best to get an LED 'driver' as it's called. They're not dear.

Have a look on the Toolstation website mate as the transformers are very cheap compared to a lot of other places. Or thats what I found when I got a transformer for a bathroom light. With mine the new trannsformers are made to work with LED and halogen.

Thanks for the replys fellas

Can you recommend me a couple of cheap and cheerful drivers that I could look into?
So its a room with 4 spotlights
One of the 4 transformers have gone.

Do I get an LED driver that will allow me to run all four spotlights from the same driver (so I'll have to change the other 3 spotlights to LED) or do I just get an individual LED driver that will convert that particular spotlight to LED?

Thanks again

If your going to start replacing spot lights then you may as well replace with mains ones instead of low voltage ones mate. Transformers just cause problems TBH.

Thanks for the suggestions bud. How do mains ones work?
I take it the normal spotlights wont do?
Are they cheap to buy?

You would have to get fire rated ones, you can get them with an LED lamp for around £ 14 each mate from the likes of screwfix. You could get them cheaper on EBay.

If you are going to change the spot light completely don`t forget to measure the hole in the ceiling before you replace them with new ones.
