I want to change a washer on the hot tap of a kitchen mixer tap if it was cold I would turn water off at the mains 1st? but as its hot water and I dont have a hot water tank as such to turn of the hotwater tank. I have a outside worcester oil boiler with a tank in it which heats my hot water. Do I have to turn off cold mains. then run all hot and cold water off 1st before taking valve off tap or what?

Very thoughtful of you Jordan keep up the good work. It appears that our @shaun127 has cured the problem now though. Thanks

Just like to share knowledge, we wouldn't be anywhere near as advanced a civilisation now if we didn't share the things we have learnt! My mistake I missed the part where he said he sorted it, sorry guys, thanks for the positive inspiration though!

Kind regards, Jordan

on my Worcester boiler (gas) I will add I just turn of the main cold feed which shuts down all water coming into house I know this is not much help but I would think yours should do the same thing
