I have a hotpoint WMYL661 washing machine that won't complete a wash cycle, I was cleaning out the gunge and doing a service wash etc because the wife always puts too much powder in the machine and it ends up full of gunge, it is probably pure coincidence but it was working fine, as in completing a wash cycle as normal, now it stops when the wash phase is done and either has all the lights flashing quickly on the control panel or it tries to pump out constantly. it won't switch onto rinse etc automatically, I can do this manually and spin off manually and it all works OK, done all the usual cleaned pump, cleaned waste pipe and trap, iv'e even took the circuit board off to check for bulging capacitors, everything seems fine. Have I missed anything before I go and buy a new machine. TIA.

There should be a hose that goes from the drum to the level control or board its usually about 10mm diameter.

Take it off and make sure there is no crap in it, also rod the hole where it connect to the drum.

Sounds like the level control is not registering the drum ampty

Have a look here and see if one of these faults resembles yours?

Troubleshooting - Hotpoint

Failing that give that helpline number a call and ask for advice before spending valuable pennies. Good luck. ;)

You are a genius langland and you’ve just saved me a the price of a new machine, I tried blowing down the pipe and it wouldn’t budge after spending 15 minutes looking for a bicycle pump to no avail I tried blowing again and this time it cleared, done another service wash and it all worked fine.
Many thanks @langland much appreciated,

a note for newbies trying to reach 5 useful posts the post I have quoted above IS A USEFUL POST!
