Hi folks.

I've just put an LED strip at the back of a picture frame I got in Ikea (got the idea here
YouTube

Problem is, you can see the strips of LEDs through the print. In the comments, they mention using tracing paper or bubble wrap to diffuse the light. Is it safe to have the bubble wrap in contact with the LEDs? Got to admit, I've never soldered anything before, I'm amazed I managed to get it to work at all!

Cheers!

Someone had some similar types you cut to length at work but they were encapsulated in clear silicone. I think he wanted them for under his kitchen cabinets with they were very bright on full power.

If you can lay your hands on a damaged CFD/LED monitor or TV you might be able to extract the diffusers.

Is it an option to turn the LED's around? So the light is hitting the back of the frame as it will restrict the light coming out of the front.
