In the process of having a new kitchen diner built and looking at the option of getting underfloor heating using the heating instead of electric diy kit.

Would it be worth doing it myself or best to get a professional in?

Get a professional and use well known brands such as WarmUp they do have lifetime warranties on their stuff, means a lot. (Just double chek now, but they definitely did, when I installed it couple of years ago)

You could also try under plynth heating. I have just installed those in my new kitchen you can see them under the draws and one in the island. They come on when the heating is turned on and hot water reaches them go off the water cools down. I am still getting used to them and I think maybe they should turn off a little quicker.
