Hey Guys,

Looking for some recommendations on tools to use for applying silicone to baths, showers, bidets etc..
I have been using the Fugi kit successfully to date but i keep seeing finishes like this around everywhere that clearly have not been done with a Fugi kit, its a brilliant tool to use when there is a perfect 90 angle but situations like the bidet below it cannot be used it also has a habit of going to deep into the cross joints.

I have seen a lot of new build houses with very neat siliconing and i wondered if anyone out there could shed any light on the matter?

Thanks guys.

Hi, thanks for your reply, but that is the Fugi kit i currently use.

I'm guessing wetting the end of your finger, and using a bit of masking tape if you wanted to be flash, are frowned upon these days?

Probably elfin safety doesn't like you using your finger in case you're stupid enough to lick it.

Works for me though.

thanks for the ideas, it has to be done with some sort of tool, no way it can be done neat with a wet finger! at least not as neat as in the picture!

Rubbish! However, the greater part of the 'secret' is laying an even bead in the first place.

use and old sealant cartridge cut up.

If you can get the above correct, then once the bead is applied spray both it and the surrounding area with water, then run your finger over it,silicon wont stick to the wet surface from the spray

Thats not an old cartridge cut up mate,

I am pretty sure m8, that with a little imagination the tool in question could quite easily be made out of an empty sealant cannister. ;)
