Gents,

I am looking for a couple of IP camera's to attach to my NAS (Synology).

I would like decent quality with good night vision.

What would you advise on?/

I have 3 Foscams for years. No issues and good cameras. A bit pricier than some but you get what you pay for.

I would recommend you pay the few quid extra and buy direct from Foscam uk rather than ebay if you decide to get a foscam. You will get support on a Foscam direct but not if bought elsewhere. worth the extra fiver imho.

Best software for Foscam is BlueIris but again it costs.

Thanks guys, the NAS has its own surveillance station software built in so I plan to use that.
@FocuS, you get one first and test it for me ;)

if you look at the ebay seller you would see it is from Foscamuk :)

maybe Chris depends how quick ya want one :)

I use a Synology NAS as an NVR and use both Hikvision & Escam, both are fantastic & the Escam cameras (720p) cost only £20 via fleabay... Can't go wrong! My Cam1.JPG

Not likely for 20 quid...!

I find it best to supply my own power and ELV cabling, more flexible & cheaper with no hint of interference... But you can always swipe a pair in a Cat6 cable if you want!?!

Only wanted to go down the poe route as you only needed to run one cable. How many physical cables do you need for this camera?

As previously mentioned, you could still run a single data cable, if cabling costs are an issue. You would just need to steal pair 4 for the ELV as this device is not ever going to need a giga-connection...!

Of course if you are replacing an existing analogue system you can now re-use the coaxial cabling & still upgrade to HD, look at this...1.JPG

I am using Foscam as well, great product line, recommend.

I have a synology NAS and a HIKVISION-DS-2CD3132 and it works fine, id recommend these, they come in differnet styles as well, domes, bullets, not cheap around £90 but the quality is great though

I've recently bought a Foscam FI8904W for synology use. Was about £55 and works great with wireless support too

Gents,

I am bumping this, can anyone give advise on these? - Foscam FI9900P
Are these overkill?

What other recommendations do you have, as I see day vision can be good on most camera's however night can be poor.

Cheers
