Hi guys/gals

Had a Tenvis ptz indoor camera worked great but not good for looking through glass at night as ir just goes back into camera.

so got a baxall ice cctv analogue camera, it has a bnc connection on the back and it works with feed going to tv.

Is it possible to setup over network....And what is the cheapest route to go.

it needs to work indoors only.

kids throwing stones at front windows want to catch them.

T.I.A Guys

P.S guy in Maplins says I got to buy a pci card, for it to record etc. £100.00 tho.

You would need a dvr or PCI card to be able to get it on a network . I wouldn't use maplins tbh they are a little expensive I have found. I came across an ip camera that is full hd and doesn't actually require a dvr. If you set up a network share on your PC or nas drive it will just leave the video files there for you. It requires nfs to be enabled which I haven't got round to sorting yet but might be a good option.

@rawsy thanks for the info m8, does that ip camera work through glass at night ?.

No I doubt you will find an infra red camera that will . The glass reflects the ir back at the camera that's what causes the issue.

Got a link @rawsy?

Wasn't sure I was allowed to post links to suppliers?

That's the camera my mate acquired for me. I haven't set it up yet but he showed me it working and it was the nuts. I don't believe it is infra red though. I was mainly pointing out there are ip cams that don't require a dvr. Good luck

If you stick them in code links its not too bad, essentially we do not all links to cable/sat traders etc.

Any cameras with IR will reflect back the light when setup indoors as mentioned.
You could get a camera setup without IR indoors and set a standalone IR light to work on the outside and your camera will then obviously pickup on the outside at night.

Ordered this$_57.jpgfrom the bay....get it today so will see how it goes.
