Hi

I need to change the all the radiator valves and lock on all radiators in the house. (9)

I have seen some on Wickes on offer but not sure if they will fit on my radiator and how to check.

I have image of my current valve on radiator

I am after buying the following from wickes

Drayton White Angled TRV4 & Lockshield Valve 15mm | Wickes.co.uk

I have been quoted £125 from a local plumber to do the job. Does this seem right or too much?

I would say it would be £125 well spent mate. That's not bad for 9 rads and you will also have peace of mind of a job done right. No leaks :)

Is the valve from wickes the correct one for that radiator?

Im sure thread sizes are standard so should fit but maybe @JimmyP may have the definitive answer

Ok thanks mate if someone can confirm and will get them ordered asap as have a few leaks in few radiators and they are all rusted ;(

The valves will fit the connection on the rad, but you need to double check the pipe size as in that picture it looks to me like your pipe is 10mm

Its 10mm so cant get the one from wickes and they dnt sell a 10 mm drayton valve i was after had to get it from somewhere else with the lockshield from somewhere else as well

You could ask the plumber to use a 15mm-10mm reducer, just depends if the plumber wants the extra hassle tbh

Yep the TRV i got are slightly bigger so plumber might have to cut copper pip to fit TRV in?

Yes there might be a bit of fiddling to get them to match, one good thing about 10mm is its more flexible and can be bent easier, without damage, if needed :)

Quick question do i need angle or straight TRV? Is angle when pipe is coming from wall and straight from floor?
