Hi guys, when we bought our house there was a wooden fitted kitchen, imported from South Africa. I thought it was a bit faded but the wife said she liked it and it just needed some tlc. Now 3 years on I haven't done anything to it and she's on my case. What I'm asking here is if I sand it down what is the best thing to put on it. I know I can't use vanish but we don't want to change the natural look. Also whatever I use on it has to withstand the everyday kitchen use. I could take a photo if it helps........funny saying that as I'm the one who needs help lol

Rub it down light with some fine sandpaper, then put a couple of coats of sadolin worktop oil on it. Do this every 8-12 months and it will last forever. Comes up like new too.
