Help from our sparkies lol :) plz

I personally would get the 32A. I would also use one of these to add to circuit for pump

Outdoor / Garden Weatherproof Double Socket Waterproof | eBay UK

I dont see any reason for that to cause a problem. If the heater draws 27A then you will still be able to draw another 5A from the sockets. Plenty to run a pump and a radio I would think. Might be worth just checking rating of the pump tho to be safe

Incidently a more accurate calculation for the heater comes out at 26.08A m8.

so closer to 26amps than 27 lol :D

The pump only tells me this info - 220-240v~, 50Hz, 165W. I dont know how to convert that to Amps :(

So what would I do, run the armoured cable to the high amp 3 pin outlet.... then spur off that to a waterproof socket on the same feed ?

pump is 0.71A

You would not be "spurring off" as it is only a radial circuit and not a ring. All you are doing is extending the circuit.

The whole circuit should be in 6mm cable. What you could do is gland your SWA off into the bottom of say the twin socket. Then drill hole in right hand side of that and left hand side of the 32A socket and butt them together and join together with cable through the adjoining holes. Just use a bit of the inside cores from the SWA offcut.

If they need to be in seperate positions you would need to cable to first socket and gland off and then the same out of that one and into the second (so you would need twice as many glands this way). In this event the socket with the two glands in must have the "banjo's" fitted and linked (your spark will know about this :) )

Im with ya now :) The sockets can be next to each other :D not a problem there. Going to build a cupboard outside that they will live in.

yep that the easiest way and the way I'd do it. All the best with it m8. Dont forget to order cleats with the SWA and Glands. I always manage to forget to buy them lol.

Sorry what are cleats ? are they the rubber o rings to use on sharp metal edges ?

No m8. They are grommets :) Cleats are the clips to fix it to the wall.

lol cool. Good luck with it. PM me if you get stuck.

Cheers bud :) The hardest part is going to be running the armoured cable, it dont like bending much lol ! Getting that into the consumer unit is going to be fun... guess I can strip the armour back and run just the flex upto the consumer unit for connection ? just trunk it if needs be.

Think I will run some strong pvc rope through under the floor first then drag the cable through :D

GALVANISED METAL CONDUIT BOX LIDS | eBay UK

I would terminate into one of these and then drill through the back and through the wall. You can then run an earth from the consumer unit to the galvenised box to earth bond the armouring (essential that armouring is earthed)

Got no wall to drill through though mate where cable will come up in the house, it will come up next to the consumer unit... so could use one of those... but continue it up to the C/U in plastic... with earth bonding run to the metal box if you follow what I mean ?
