I am thinking of getting a conservatory built, however there is no easy what to get a PIR or glass detector into it.
So I was looking at getting a wireless PIR and ancillary sensors, but is there a specialist piece of kit that I can install that has a switched output that I can connect to my existing alarm system?

I currently have a Texecom Veritas R8 alarm,

I got mine from here, that's nearley a year with no problems at all
Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

they have quite a few to choose from including glass detectors, you can basicly pick what you want a pick n mix really.

If it's a conservatory added on to a building that is fully alarmed...............................why bother?
Wot they going nick u 2/3 piiece wicker abomination!

As I will have my PC and nice TV in there :)

And there is no chance of wicker in my house, I don't live in the 70's ;)

Out of interest would it be possible to have a cheapish wireless alarm with all of the sensors that you require for the conservatory and have the control box for this next to your exiting alarm. Then instead of having the wire going to the alarm signal have this going to one of the triggers on the existing alarm.....
Or have the nearest sensor to the conservatory wired on a big loop through the conservatory. The whole conservatory and the room with the PIR would be on the same zone but it would be done.
Probably stupid and impossible ideas. But hey as my mum says I'm trying.

I see what you are saying, but the main termination box is in the loft as with it being a veritas system it has a remote keypad.

Thats more akin to what I am after :)

One bizarre thing though you go on the Texecom website it says those are not available in the UK??

Yeah, see what you mean.
Although they do appear to be readily available from that other site. Perhaps they are compatible models or grey imports.
Not sure on u.k. law but is there possibly a boob and they've used a restricted radio frequency?

Thats exactly what I was thinking, I could imagine everytime a baby monitor gets turned on the alarm will go of..lol

just be careful when creating a hybrid system. if you have the intruder alarm listed on an insurance policy for discount creating a hybrid breaches the manufacturers reccomendations for use. some poxy ionsurance company may cause a stink if there is ever a claim.
