I have 10x60 plugs and screw bolts to match
what drill bit/s do I need to suit ? I'm thinking its best to start a pilot hole and work up

me and diy stuff don't mix, so sorry for the maybe stupid, obvious question lol

what are you drilling into, if it's a wall you need to make sure it's a masonry bit :)

Rat the 10 is the diameter and the 60 is the length.

You want a hold slightly smaller than the diameter of the plug so you get a snug fit. Otherwise the plug will rotate in the drilled hole.

PS @ Eva....LMAO ;)

well sometimes you need to say these things, i know it looks obvious to you, but to me asking what kind of drill bit also includes whether its a masonry bit or for wood etc, not just the size ;)

If you use a 10mm bit then you may have to start the screw in the plug to get it fitting ok.
As stated 9.5mm will be a nice tight fit but 10mm is ok.
Once the screw has turned in plug slightly it will be nice and tight when done up anyway.

Size ane length is always important to Women you know,Lol

the only people talking about either here are guys, i was more interested in whether it was the right bit for the job!

When drilling a hole as big as that I always start with a smaller drill and work up to ensure a tight fit. I tend to find if you use the big drill to start with and you hit a tough bit in the wall the movement leaves you with a bigger hole than the drill bit.

TBH, if its breeze block then I would look at a 8.5 or 9mm bit and tap the plug in with a hammer.

At Stewart says, start small, test it and then work your way up from there. If you make the hole too big in the first place then your fooked.

no one asked if he is using left hand drill bits:proud:hand drill, hammer action, etc
