Hi

Got a Ariston 1636s machine which back fills through the detergent draw. Had a google and it looks like the 'sump hose' is blocked ?

How do i find this part/unblock it. I have removed the front faceplate at bottom but there is nothing to get at ??

Cheers

Im No expert but here goes:

Had a similar problem with our old BOSCH machine.
Pulled the machine out.
Disconected it all, water, waste etc and took it outside.

Laid it on a dust sheet and the Pump and waste hose assembly was underneath (along with the drum sump).

Took this all apart, cleared the blockage and put back together.
Jet washed out the detergent draw and the pipe at the back.

Ran a diluted solution of Soda crystals through the system.
Not to strong or it will perish the rubber seals, hoses etc.

Put it on a hot wash with the cystals and good as new.
Best put it on a good rinse cycle or you will ruin your next wash of clothes.

BTW , do you use powder detergent as over time this clogs the machine.

I only use liquid or gel these days.

Hope this helps

We have a Hotpoint washer dryer and the waste blocks quite often. Its easily noticed as the clothes are wet as if not spun.

I remove the corrugated pipe from the waste outlet and hold it outside while the washer it put on a rinse/spin cycle. As soon as the pump starts I have a long piece of pretty firm quarter inch plastic flexible tube that I push and pull through the corrugated to clear the shite.

This usually happens a couple of weeks after the wife has replaced all the bathroom towels with new fluffy ones.
