Building my Brick Shed with pics.

didnt you need planning permission for that? normaly you do for a fixed building which was nor originally there

i had to get planning permision for my Conservatory and thats plastic :proud:

Think those poles are for his sprouts/runner beans.............

Got french windows in, just need to add make-up/mastic etc.

Had doors/windows from Wickes as they were a lot cheaper than other places and good quality for price. Also had discount code for first order and cashback through site.

Waiting for nice day to attempt roof which should be fun...

Just don't know how to finish inside now ?? Might tile floor/plaster walls.

Hi

I think thats a cracking job, I would be well chuffed if that had been my effort.

You cant really call that a shed can you lol.

Regards

Been great following progress. Just wish garden was as big. How does this go with planning permission, did you need planning permission for just a project.

you didnt forget to get a electric feed in did you?

my parents had a brick shed and put lights, sockets and an alarm in incase someone tried to break into it. it had its own small DB in there too.

Nice job m8, looks very good,
I've got a knackered concrete sectional garage that needs replacing, I was thinking of a brick one, but I thought you needed proper footings,
Is a concrete base ok? As I could use the one I've got.

Nice job, but I've noticed that there have been four questions so far about planning permission.

Nice job, but I've noticed that there have been four questions so far about planning permission.

Planning regulations were changed in 2008. Permission isn't now needed for many projects, including extensions, loft conversions, garages/sheds etc so long as they are below a certain size.

the planning portal has lots of usefull info.

this part gives more detail on outbuildings.

I think the rules are pretty much the same in Scotland but the planning portal only covers England and Wales.

Cheers guys. I did answer question re planning earlier and did ringmy local council at the time and explained dimensions etc.

They got back to me and give me the go ahead, can not remember the specifics as it was about 3 years ago.

digirig - I would check your existing footings mate, if too shallow just put new in to support the wall and keep existing base if sound.

I will also be running in electrics as i'm a sparky by trade so that's no problem.

Yea am aware of the edgings mate, got a supplier near me who is cheap as chips and very helpful. Will have drip edges around front for guttering and raised around back so no water falls off/damp etc. Also realise they do 90' corners but not too sure what to get for the 45' ?

if your supplier doesnt have the 45' corners ,"miter the raised edging then m8"....thats what i done

its a fiddly job so dont worry if they are not perfect joints....................attach the miterd edging to the ply then cover the joints with masking tape..."then cover over the masking tape with the topcoat tissue and grey flowcoat

perfect strong joints

Little update. All walls nearly roughed and 5 double sockets put in, also put in 2 outside lights, these will be on 2 way switching so i can turn off at house once french doors are fitted on house.

Also put osb boards on by myself which was hard work.....

Putting on the fibreglass profiles/batons on now and all guttering. Way too hot to lay roof at moment though.

Will add more pics later.
