Building my Brick Shed with pics.

Was only thinking the other day i don't remember seeing an update. Looking good so far, just need to get the momentum going. Its meant to be a scorcher of a summer, so if you don't do anymore you will have the best bbq base.

looks a nice job m8, {nice shape} "are the bricks for the front face ??"

it appears from your pics that the concrete slab membrane will be showing on the exterior of the shed {what purpose will this shed be used for m8} and what will you be doing on the interior {walls and floor} ????????

Just wanted room in my garage to store new car that's all, it went from a wooden shed to this.

I am thinking about putting wooden floor and my gym stuff back in there now though, plus plenty room for storage.

That membrane is nothing mate, will put a run of brick on edge or something to cover it.

Kruger - I actually have a bricky tool in box somewhere lol but never used it.lol

lagigolo - going to get this sorted this summer, got windows and door on order, then i am going to read up on a fibreglass roof and diy one, looks simple enough.

Done this yesterday and even cut the grass, off now to get a mix on the go.

i was gonna build one in my yard... steel frame with cladding etc, but not enough time in the day. nice project mate, hope you finish it soon.

as it's built out of bricks (i.e. permanent) - did u have to get any sort of planning permission?

hahaha its 1 messy job if your a 1st timer m8............obviously you need a good rain/ wind free day to get the 2 coats done..............the 1st glass fibre coat is quite easy enough just messy, but the top sheath coat is like toilet paper, blows everywhere

its easy realy if you get someone to give you a touch with it

get some fibreglass edgeing trim if you want a neater job m8, makes it easier aswell........................done my dog kennel come shed this way

fibreglass trim over upvc facia, "heres a pic"

Yea am aware of the edgings mate, got a supplier near me who is cheap as chips and very helpful. Will have drip edges around front for guttering and raised around back so no water falls off/damp etc. Also realise they do 90' corners but not too sure what to get for the 45' ?

Still do not know the process EXACTLY though, is it just apply matting with the coating stuff, roll it out nicely and join it with the edgings then apply whatever colur top/gelcoat you want ?

Got wood coming friday, also got some fascia on order ready for Sat.

Do not want felt as Fibreglass looks neater, lasts longer and roughly same price.

edgeings are normaly grey, so i would go for the grey topcoat if i was you m8 {thats assuming you dont want to cover them completly with the topcoat tissue

1st off make sure the ply boards are screwed to the joists, dont use nails.

attach your fasias and edgeings..."inner lip on the raised and drip edgeing goes underneath the firbregass matting m8"..........glue / screw or nail the inner lip to the ply.

Cheers Benny mate. Got windows in and most roof support done, weather not good though.

weathers crap for this type of job m8...............the top flowcoat is wax based, and needs atleast 24 hours of good weather to cure {rain overnight will ruin it}

Its looking great, surprising that little push has changed it so much.

Did you get new windows? or have some lying around?

Whats the plans for the opening, are you going for french doors to be able to open it right up to let the air in?

Have to say mate i never thought of a brick shed but that looks brilliant.
My shed is falling apart so it might be something to think about.
Good post..

yeah m8 that looks the dogs nadgers.

flat roof might be a bit of a 'mare though?

btw ..what are those big poles in your neighbours garden?
