Been and had alook this morning, i was gona just unscrew the handle and let him keep that in the house, but its so old and rusted, the screw holding the handle onto tap is knackered. cant get it out and he aint to keen on my mucking about with it, lol

He wont let me fit a new tap,

so are there any locks , padlock type things or a cap that goes over the handle that can be locked to stop these little brats fecking about, prefer with a key or two so i can keep one for him incase he loses his.

any help gratefully recieved

Cheers Guys

Is there anyway you can connect straight to the electricity mains?

Maybe the other kids wont touch it again after the 1st kid try's it.

Is there not a cut-off switch inside the house for that tap only?

shaun on the hose is there a red lock tight fitting?
if so change it about so that the non return wont let any water through.

If he doesn't want a stop tap fitting how about one of these: http://www.standpipes.com/products.php?category=3

Cheers Pob, but Im paying for it, lol he wont spend the money, Im just trying to help the old guy but I aint elping him £26's worth, lol

Theres no hose attached John, just the Tap mate, that pic was just one I pulled of the net, same kind of tap.

ok mate its fairly easy to do,

hows your plumbing skills ?

ok locate the pipe in the house on the other side, most likely be the kitchen,

switch all the water of in the house from the main tap (you will have to find this)

cut the pipe in the kitchen, and fit one of these,

Ive lived next door to the old guy for about three years today was the 1st time he has let me in, He's abit accentric if you know what I mean, my wifes been doing his shopping for the past two years and she aint allowed in. she has to knock on the back door with his shopping, he takes one bag in at a time, then asks for the receipt and pays the wife, wont let her carry it in to the house lol.

he wont let me do anything in the house re plumbing which even if he did , I wouldnt be to comfortable doing, cutting pipes etc.

very easy to do,

There should really be an isolation cock inside the house, probably under the sink?

definately no Donnie, there are two stop cocks under the sink, one cuts all the water in the house from cold tank , the other one isolates the washing machine pipes before the normal washing machine type valves.

I tried them both this morning.

Pmsl, I just been out in the back garden talikng to the old bugger, still wont let me try and sort it, but he's willing to let a plumber into the house to sort it all, WoW I thought making headway!!

Until he said only if I was willing to pay the fecking Plumber, lol

Just take the T bar off the top of the tap, usualy just a screw !!!

tighten it right up, then cut the ends off the tap handle with hacksaw. Now it can only be turned on with a pair of grips.

Is it the type that's threaded on the nozzle? Put a blanking cap on it.

i think just cut the pipe and stick an isolation valve in the pipe work in the house, total control over when you want use it

Hi Guys

2 years too late probably but I use a tap lock from a company called spinsecure when my customers ask me to lock their outside taps...

They have a website but you can't buy from them direct. You have to purchase from one of the linked sellers...

Just in case anybody has the same problem..
