what is better a celeron processor or a intel core 2 duo processor 2:10 ghz

If they are the same speed 2ghz and similar price go core 2.

i have two laptops one is an acer aspire e15 and the other is an hp pavillion dv7 and i do not know which one i should use because the hp pavillion has the intel core 2 duo inside it and the acer aspire e15 has the celeron n290 inside it

Although e15 looks like it came out slightly later, I would still use dv7. Just to be sure go to control panel system on both systems and post cpu size and type and memory type, but I still think the dv7 is the way to go.

Forget deciding which one to use by comparing the specs of the processor. Simply try both and see which one you prefer.

What chookey says is also a good option. :)

the acer aspire e15 has 4 gb ram and a 1.86 ghz and the hp pavillion dv7 has a 2.4 ghz and 4 gb of ram

Are You sure your Acer e15 is a Celeron? as a quick Google comes back saying it's a 2014 machine running a core i3 or better.

Does it look like THIS.

Personally I'd never have a Celeron as they are crap! Slow compared to Intel and AMD

The Celeron is an Intel :proud:

Sorry meant compared to Pentium / i3 / i5 / i7.

They have always been the poor mans choice. Saying that I'm sure they are better than what I remember but I still wouldn't go for one. Buts thats a personal choice.

Both of those laptops are comparatively low end machines, I doubt that the OP would be able to see any real difference between them based on the processor alone. There are many threads started here asking which is the "best", whether it be laptop, cable/satellite box or iptv/streaming box.

At the end of the day, there rarely is a "best". Usually down to personal choice and use. Why get the "best" and spend loads if you are only browsing internet or watching Kodi which seems to be ok through a firestick?
If someone actually started a thread asking which system would be "best" for an actual purpose other than basic use, then differences in processor would be relevant.

SATA is both backwards and forwards compatible. i.e. a SATA 1 drive will work on a SATA 3 port. And a SATA 3 drive will work on a SATA 1 port. It will, however, only be able to run at the lowest common speed.

Derivatives of SATA, e.g. mSATA, are not compatible though. I'd expect them to be labelled as such in the manual that sneaker has linked to.
