Does anybody has a good alternative for teamviewer ? Im a bit conserned about safety and want to try something else

Windows Remote Desktop Connection:
Join.me:
Splashtop:
Ammyy Adminn:
Ultra VNC:
WebEx Free:

a selection for you with various costs etc

I use ultraviewer as you dont get all the and the adds on there either

MSP connect from solarwinds is pretty good also.

is it to connect from anywhere? If you are concerned about security build yourself a little OTP and use google authenticate as an additional layer of protection :)

You using a Windows OS or Linux?

If windows (and forgive me I haven't used VNC in years) when you establish a connection do you first of all have to enter your windows credentials at the login page?

If so you can build in OTP allowing you to have 2 teir authentication, first of all with your OTP and then logging in normally with your windows credentials (Depending what version windows you are running)

Many ways to skin a cat its just a case of finding what suits your needs, for instance you could set yourself up a little SSL or IPSEC VPN so connectivity is encrypted and use a combination of security solutions to bolster it :)

With VNC you can block the ports on your router so its only communicable internally then nail up a VPN and establish a VNC connection etc.

My apologies for being a bit vague :)

If you use Teamviewer turn on it's VPN ans if you are using it from outside your network it is very secure, or as secure as any VPN is.

I've tried many of these type of options during the past decade or so and for me Teamviewer has always been good and secure.

Many of the other ones need to be paid for before you get the benefits you get free with Teamviewer.

Logmein was the best before it went paid only.

Splashtop need to be paid for if you use it from outside your network, called Splashtop anywhere. Plus it was a lot slower than Teamviewer.

Hi, I have found splashtop to be great. If you use android a lot like me then I have found splashtop to be the best solution for me. personally it works better than teamviewer on my tablet and phone's. I subscribed for a year for the first year (something like 12 quid) I feel that was good value. After the first year i changed it to monthly with no auto renewal, this way if I don't use it for a few months I don't feel that I have wasted my money and when I need to use it away from home it just takes a second (and about £1.20) to add anywhere access for 30 days at a time.

I've recently set up ISL Light, pretty good remote connection tool that you can set up to work without user prompt

Im quite keen on RealVNC
Its free, secure and now lets you create an "address book" of your computers so you dont have to remember logins/ips etc :)
