cannot help you with build specifics but I took my son to insomnia 58 at the nec on monday and the gaming computers there where unbelieveable. 2k plus some of them and they all seemed to have liquid cooling.

Just trying to keep as low as poss really

@melttc you still looking? If you post what you'll be doing on it, I'll see if I can spec something out when I get home from work.

I'm personally waiting for AMD's AM4 motherboards and Bristol Ridge CPUs to be released to hardware resellers. The AM4 mobos will also be forwards compatible with the Zen CPUs launching Q2/H1 (I think) next year. Hoping to see AMD able to compete with Intel again with this new architecture.

I have got an i7 now but only an nvidia 670 which i will upgrade soon , the machine is a mini itx which is not much bigger than a loaf of bread which is great as it is super small

there are lots of great resources for different builds online, I think Tom's is not bad:

If you are looking to build a decent rig but dont want to pay out all at once sacrifice a little on the CPU to upgrade a little later, so get a locked cheaper i5 or i7 then later on upgade it to a higher end i5 ****k or i7 ****k, dont scrimp on your mother board as ending up with something that restricts or hinders your overclocking ability is a bit of a bummer.

Im forever playing the upgrade chasing game to ensure my rig is top spec, not that it needs to be its just preference to my own detriment haha. Main things to concentrate on are Decent case with good airflow, a good PSU is a must if you are building a gaming rig and a good solid motherboard with plenty of OC wiggle room.

I've used pc specialist a couple of times and found them very good. Might be worth working out your ideal build on their online configurator and see what the cost comes in at. I'm not saying buy from them necessarily but the configurator guides you on what works with what.

I builded my first computer a few weeks ago, bought products that people bought or received wrong for christmas.
Bought a Intel Core i7 6700k 4,0 GHz 8Mb (CPU), Noctua NH-U14S (CPU Cooler) Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Aura (Motherboard), Corsair DDR4 2400Mhz CL14 Vengeance LPX 16GB (Memory), Fractal Design Define R5 Blackout Window chassi for approximate 410 GBP

Generally you are best off building yourself, as it will save you quite a bit and you can get better components for your budget.

However, I know that's not always possible. Try SCAN computers or Overclockers. They pretty much cover all bases, if you're really looking to build PM me and I'll help you with a build.

I was really easy to build self. Just need to be careful with the components. On youtube you have alot of videos showing how to install.
