Is OneDrive just another cloud storage service like Dropbox etc? As it's free, the cynic in me wonders what MS gain from it.

I don't know what they gain from it but if you use it they will have access to every bit of information your computer holds

Including what we are saying in this open forum right now

Some people say if you have nothing to hide what does it matters

But some are more privacy conscious

It’s up to you to make a choice

Think I read somewhere that MS are looking at reducing the storage space for a lot of people.
I have 15Gb at no cost and I think with there new format that will go down to 5Gb. Unless I misread it.
Think google is your best option...certainly for photos as its unlimited providing the quality of the photo is within there guidelines. Think it's around 15-16 mega pixel

I guess that's what they gain then. One has to wonder what they do with that mass of information. Is it all for statistical analysis?

If you believe what they say have a look here

Yes. OneDrive is just another cloud storage. I'm using it to exchange links or pics between my workstation in office and smartphone, but no personal stuff or photos (photo synchronization is disabled on my smartphone).

Yep, just anoth cloud storage. I prefer it to any of the alternatives though
