Other bitcoin core 0.10.0

hi all im having a nightmare with bitcoin core on pc.
im trying to sync the program on my pc however it has been going all most a week now and still 45 weeks behind!
is there a way i can make this go faster as i have already had to start the sync from fresh twice due to the kids pissing around with laptop and causing it to crash and lose the files.
i have bitcoins waiting in my wallet which i cant retrive until a full sync of the software is done

I didnt think bitcoin was worth the hassel nowadays. I thought the mining costs didnt made it worthwhile? Theres no way to make it faster as far as i know!
