One for @little_pob maybe.

Budget 200 each or less if possible?

I need to buy two low end pc's that will be good for internet games like mine craft, and this robolux or whatever it's called, and also ms word etc for homework...

My kids drive me mad with using my PC. They need to do homework all the time and fight over who's go to use my PC, I am at ikea tomorrow buying a nice desk for them so I can be left in peace :)

Cheers all
Mick

Time has got away from me today in prep for my mate's 30th tomorrow evening.

It'll be Saturday at the earliest before I can start looking, but off the top of my head an H61 chipset mobo, Intel G2020, and 4GB of DDR3 1333 should be good enough.

is that £200 inc monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers. I take it you don't want to pay for a O/S ?

LMAO, I just googled robolux and came up with this

You're either a far more liberal parent than I, or hopefully talking about something else ;)

Pmsl... It's deffo not that one!!!

Shaun got it lol

what's the priority for the machines mate as for £200 a pop them its a little much to be asking for gaming and so on
I do know mindcraft is low usage but will still run better with a proper graphics card as said do you need monitors and so on
also If you have a few parts about this might save your budget and get you better machines
i.e an old sky box has a 500 gb drive and these can be found on gumtree for penny's
or even a good second hand machine but best advice when buying a second hand machine is pull the side off and check for dust
will give you an idea of usage . dust is a pc killer

Two available, £110 each inc delivery. Includes monitor, keyboard, mouse and even a legit windows 7 license.

My son uses a core2duo for minecraft and its fast enough for basic usage.

Fast Dell GX745SFF Desktop PC Computer Core 2 Duo 2.6Ghz 160GB 20 TFT Windows 7 | eBay

Leaves you enough budget to add a video card later + memory later on if you need it.

SPECIFICATIONS

INTEL CORE 2 DUO 2.6GHZ
2GB DDR-2 800MHZ MEMORY
160GB SATA 7200RPM HARD DRIVE
DVD+/-RW DRIVE
DELL 20" TFT*
ATI RADEON HD2400 GRAPHICS
6 X USB 2.0 PORTS
ETHERNET NETWORK PORT
AUDIO PORTS
SERIAL PORT, PARALLEL PORT, VGA OUT,
keyboard & mouse*

the disadvantages with egay is you have to trust the seller a little
with gumtree you go collect and suss it out for yourself

That why I prefer the ex-corporate PC as they are usually better looked after. Plus they normally come with 3 or 6 months warranty. The two items likely to break are PSU and harddrive. Dell used to have a problem with crap PSU on SFF until 745 came out, I wouldn't bother with any model older. And harddrive, well that is the risk you take with second hand. They are also pretty small and quiet, ideal as media streamer or bedroom.

Thanks guys some really good suggestions.

Not sure if I can give them a second hand pc for Xmas though my wife will kill me lmao.

I do agree though it's probably the best way to go.

I know the budget is tiny but I already bought them ipad minis I just wanted something for homework and that

Roblox lmao
Mind craft
Other web based games (kids)
Browsing
Word, excell, office

Mick - u interested from buying from a board member? I can get ex-work PC's, decent spec, 4GB RAM, 160HD's - model HP DC5850 : HP Compaq dc5850 review | PC Pro

with 19" TFT's, keyboards, mouse, etc. can probably get both for £200 - just depends on carriage on top!

Really grateful for all suggestions, might as well put a few quid more and get monitors and decent hard drive etc.

Thanks again guys

do they need seperate monitors, why not just plug them into there existing tv's, then all you need is mouse and keyboard, certainly save not having to buy the monitors, and less leccy too because they wont be running both telly and monitor at same time, lol!

I know what you mean mate, but tv is on the wall pal other side of the room.

And I bought them a double desk and if they have one PC there will be murders... However I have come to the conclusion that we bought them laptops a year or so ago... And the DC jacks have broken so they don't charge...

Might put them in the shop... As I can't be arsed to solder on to motherboards!

And they could use them. :)
