Intel i3 rig: Lists | Ebuyer.com- The graphics on the i3 APU isn't good enough for gaming and the H61 chipset is the most basic one. Despite going for the i3, a budget chipset and a 250GB hard drive the need for a gaming GPU has pushed it over budget by £50.AMD A10 rig: Lists | Ebuyer.com
- The A10 APU's Radeon HD 7660d graphics are good enough for gaming, but the cost is extra power draw. Whilst the 500W PSU will handle it; more power, equals more heat to dissipate.
If the need is immediate, I think I'd go for the AMD and save for a ~£200 discrete GPU. However, if it's not urgent, I'd hold off, still save the £200, as a £500 rig will get you a whole lot more.
