This is how I just made a windows7 bootable usp pen easy and simple tut.

If your running on xp and making this boot pen you have to install this API V2 file from windows, then just follow the instructions below. View attachment WindowsXP-KB932716-v2-x86-ENU.rar

Creating the Bootable USB

Open My Computer, right-click on your USB or external drive, and proceed to format with the default settings

Download and install the Microsoft Windows USB Tool from this link:

View attachment Windows7-USB-DVD-tool(1).rar

Click the Windows Start button, and click WINDOWS 7 USB/DVD DOWNLOAD TOOL in the ALL PROGRAMS list to open the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool.

In the SOURCE FILE box, type the name and path of your Windows 7 ISO file, or click BROWSE and select the file from the OPEN dialog box. Click NEXT.

Select USB DEVICE to create a copy on a USB flash drive and then select your USB device in the drop-down list and click BEGIN COPYING.

Installing Windows Vista/7 from USB

Restart your computer, making sure that the USB is plugged into your PC.
Right when your PC turns on, you will need to configure it to boot from the USB drive.

Depending on your manufacturer, this may be possible directly from the splash screen that first shows up by pressing "F8" or "F12" (depending on your PC manufacturer) to open what may be called a "boot selection menu." If you don't have this option, you'll need to enter the BIOS setup and configure your boot device priority --- you'll have to refer to your motherboard's manual for the details, but it's usually accomplished by pressing "Esc", "Enter", "Del", or "F2" to enter the BIOS setup page, and then searching for "BOOT Options" or a similar listing.

Save the BIOS options (if needed), and proceed to boot your PC. You'll see a message to "Press any key to boot into Windows setup" at which point you should press something for setup to begin.

Good luck!

This is the most simpe method I have ever come across and it works like a dream so if it helps you click on me star man cheers.

can confirm the windows 7 tool works, just made a bootable USB stick and it works, so you will be fine m8, if you get stuck you can allways ring me :)

once formatted, i'm not sure if a 4GB will work - i use an 8GB

I put windows 7 ultimate Light on a hp note book straight away with a 4gb usb pen because the windows file was only approx 3GB.

You will need a larger usb pen formatted to NFTS to boot most windows7 iSOs though as there normally 4.3 GB and fat32 only supports files upto 4GB

@ RAT ive just put windows7 on a small samsung NC10 but some of the drivers are not available for windows 7 so Im looking for comptible drivers mmmmm headache. So before you start with your notepad make sure you find all the drivers you need. lol GOOD LUCK
