I've got a Linksys WRT610N and I want to get a 1tb drive to connect it to and store my home vids etc on it and also use it as a media server.
I was looking at some external drives but these were powered using an adapter and because the router is always on until sleeping time, I was wondering whether I should go for the portable ones powered by usb only...
what do you think? is there an advantage to usb powered drives with energy saving / no adapter overheating etc? can you recommend ones that are not likely to fail and lose my data?
