hey all and a very good morning to you all.!

i am using my on board sound card thats attached to my amp but thats acting like 5.1 sound so the speaker in and out and Mic act as the left right and sub, i was thinking can i install another sound card like a sound blaster so i can have some more inputs?

Thanks

yes

disable the onboard sound in the bios and uninstall the drivers from windows

ah is there any way that i can keep the on board sound working like i have now ?

All I'm looking for is another sound input so i don't have to swap the leads over all the time.

TA.

yes mate you can do it

install card and then in sound properties you can use the mic and that i used to do it for gaming

If you have a spare 3.5mm jack at the back of your MB you can assign that to do whatever you want, it can act as a line out or a mic or anything else. You can even assign the same to front 3.5mm jacks on your case.

If you're out of 3.5mm jacks madmancs suggestion sounds good although I've never tried it

You could always use the SPDIF or Optical out on your MB to send sound from PC into your amp. That would free up the 3.5mm jacks
