the mrs is thinking about getting laser eye treatment has anyone had this done or know of anyone thats had it done. how long before things are back to normal? is it sore? any pros and cons?

One of the blokes at work had it done, he said it was sore for the 1st couple of days. Then after about a week all was good.
BUT only get one eye done at a time;)

my m8 had it done about 10 years ago, but in the last 12 months he said one eye has started to blur again, but only ever so lightly.

another m8 had it done about 4 years ago, he's a wimp, he said it hurt for about a week.

ye seems to be worth it specially since she cant stand contacts. her maw and paw said they would pay for one eye so i then had to say in that case i'll nip down to tam shepards (a joke shop ) and buy her an eyepatch for the other one:Clap: . no but havent really heard of any bad press on it, it seems to be straightforward, except she's brickin it.

I know a few people thats had it done and all said it's the best thing they ever done. said eyes felt a bit gritty for the first few days but spot on after that. they all got both eyes done 2gether at optical express in newcastle might be one around your way. my brothers booked to get his done on the 27th nov costing him 2600quid. could have got a cheaper one but went 4 the individual treatment

I dont think its a good Idea unless your eyesights quite bad,I tried to get this done last year and because my prescription was less than one (it was actually -.75) they wouldnt touch me,which made me think you'd only notice the difference if like I said your sight was quite bad.

got mine done in ping pong last year , there great can see around corners

Exactly! Most opticians wear glasses in fact. Think about it.

May be there eyes are are to bad to corrected -9.0 or not bad enough as above -0.75 or they they have a stigma in the eye.Theres 3 reason why ,So yes maybe you should of thought about it a bit more before you replyed: tosser :

My wife had it done 6 months ago at optimax Southampton. Her eyes were quite bad -8.0 in both eyes. She had the LASIK+wavefront £1695 both eyes ,we got a voucher off E-bay.
She drove after a week still a bit hazy. She had her 6 months check up yestarday and her vision is 20/20 another ceckup in 4 months when they think it should be better than 20/20

Any question PM me

I've two questions...
Why the attack on the last poster? Have you considered the possibility also that they wear them to advertise (you never see them in ill-fitting, sellotaped frames..?)
Second, what's better than 20/20?

ask you optician why they dont get it done

They want money in the till for their business, but will not admit that its not worth getting laser treatment unless your glasses are like looking thru' the bottom of milk bottles.
You can only get laser done x1 time- so better to wait till your eyes deteriorate as they will with old age- - no arguments- and get them done later in life
Or unless you want to scout the local 'poontang' in the park in summer , whilst your still young, and be sure your eyeing up a young honey and not an OAP:Clap:
