Hi all ;)

just purchased one of these DVD players, last week from Richer sounds and would like some advice on it

When viewing films the picture freezes for a few seconds then starts again.......but the audio sounds continue as normal

The machine is brand new and is region free....well thats what they said in the shop.

I have phoned them asking what may be wrong with it and the reply was........Its the DVD disc.......then he said something about "layer transfer of the disc they all do it"  .......never heard about that one before!!!I thought DVD was supposed to be crystal clear?

I have tried original discs aswell as copied discs and they all freeze at some point in the film, some worse than others.

can anyone give me some advice on this? as I don't really know much about it....

Thanks in advance

Gary

unable to find out much about this one i did read one review and there was no mention of the fault you have i did find the hack for it so it most likely does no change regions auto
Works for DVD421 & DVD451:
Open disc tray
Press 'Setup' on the remote
Then press 'Next, Prev, Next, Prev.'

Enter region code setup:
Ver 255 = Region free
Ver 1 = Region 1
Ver 2 = Region 2
Press left (<) or right (>) key

Press Down key twice

Ver 4001 = macrovision enable
Ver 4000 = macrovision disable
Press left (<) or right (>) key
not sure if this will be any help just could be faulty.......

Cheers Damage m8

The region free settings were sorted when I picked it up,.....but still curious to whether the picture should freeze intermittingly through out the movie:confused:

Gary

there is a slight pause as the dvd changes layers, usualy about halfway through-ish

So this is normal pissquick m8......some discs pause every 4 to 5 minutes.........

Gary

Jock, ring them up and say you have tried the same DVD disc on two other machines, both of which play perfect without a glitch, then demand a replacement.

The clock is ticking so get it sorted sooner rather than later.

Shouting in a shop seems to help them see your point of view.

not at all, just a slight pause half a second maybe about halfway through.

sounds like a replacement is needed.

Phoned up Richer Sounds again!!!!

Its going to be at least 10 days before they can replace the player:mad: .......
