Quiz night at our local last night, and a quick poll amongst the regulars confirmed my suspicion that, as in our house, election literature goes straight from the front door mat into the recycling bin.

There must be millions spent on this stuff! Does anyone here actually read it?

Straight to the bin, total shite, all lies.

Funny you should mention this nara, I was saying to the mrs the other day, when was the last time we ever had a would be politician tap the front door? been in this house 20 years and never seen any cant for about 15, they cant be arsed nowadays, stick a leaflet through the door and hope you vote for a party rather than a individual. :Angryfire

Did they ever pick the pensioners up by you? They did by us when I was a Kid, My Grandfather would ask for a lift off the torys to the poling station, Always Voted Labour and didnt want to waste labour funds , then on the lift home he'd get the tory driver to drop him off at the old labour club.

The missus and I were just commenting on the lack of election bumph dropping though the letterbox, none at all so far from either party

Just come home from work tonight and not only seen every lamp post posted with labour bunff every 100 yards but also labour people out on the streets. They have not come into our estate but in the local council houses they seem to be out and about. Best not come to my house. Might just pop out tonight and pull and the flyers down. LOL

Coming from an historic Chartist (1837-48) region, I always used my vote. Nevertheless, I have never had a chance to be able to vote for any Party Leader, and as of yet nobody as voted for Theresa May as PM other than MP's.
At least you won't have to throw this in the bin

A few years ago, there was a by-election in my constituency and we had candidates from the Monster Raving Loonies and other fringe parties, so their leaflets were much more entertaining. The candidate for the Bus Stop Elvis Party, for instance, wanted to convert a derelict hotel into a brothel, with discounts for OAPs!

I skim, laugh at the half-truths, then chuck them.

However, I did block the instagram accounts of both the Conservatives and Theresa May - as it stops the sponsored posts appearing in my feed.

Ireland is hoping for a hung parliament in the UK. Anything to disrupt Brexit. We have massive interest in it not happening at all. Not too sure about Corbyn though. The UK political system seems screwed

The thing about Corbyn is that before becoming leader of the Labour Party he never held any type of Ministerial Office and initially he tried to run the Opposition in his own perspective (a bit like Trump really). It took time but Corbyn has learnt that in politics you have make compromises, especially if you are considered as too left or ever too right wing.

I had the first 2 through my door this morning, the turnaround time from letterbox to recycling is usually 2 minutes. I decided to share a small glimpse of the Lib Dem candidate with you.
Apart from how he looks, read the last sentence of the first paragraph. It's not a typo either.

He lives in Nuneaton?

Have any of you ever participated from the other side of the divide? As a kid I used be dragged out leaflet dropping for every ejection/referendum by my dad.
