Chimney liner.

I need a chimney liner installing and a gatherhood

Does anyone know what's a reasonable going rate?

The guy who fitted my open gas fire never installed one then condemned my gas fire because chimney was leaking smoke through the bricks.

If I knew then I would have got it done first but then he quoted me 2 grand and capped the gas off.

Rang few local people and all seem reluctant as it wasn't their job and want around £1500-£1800

Not sure if they all know I have no choice and just trying milk it or it's genuinely cost that much for 6" flexi liner.

Worst thing was already paid £1500 to have my fireplace done.

Look on eBay for flexi flue think I got 5 meters for £150

that sounds an absolute rip off mate.

i would have thought £ 150 Discon and recon Fireplace, chimney liner £ 200 , labour to install liner £400 , liner cowl £ 60, total £ 810.

all these figures ive exaggerated . cant see it being more than that mate

Did the smoke test about a month later when after he fitted the fireplace.

He came back to connect the fire basket and then decided to tell me I needed a chimney liner.

Someone have me a quote to point the chimney but that's £300 but still need gather hood
