NOTIFICATIONS - How to stop them !!!

Hi All

How do i 'tone down' my notifications, i have 6 unread PM's, they are NOT PM's but PM's in most just say someone has replied to your thread, 2 new mentions ?, 7 new post quotes and one new thank/like post.

ALL i want is a simple email that 1. someone has replied to my thread 2. I got sent a PM sent me a PM...

I have 16 Notifications, i've only posted twice and had one reply...lol

It's 'pop-up madness when you log back in...lol
